Large Wood with Brass Inlay

1 7/16”, NBS large, in good condition. Strips of brass inlaid into wooden button. Late 1800s. Upon close inspection the white spot at top of last picture is a ding in the top stained layer down to the lighter color of wood. It’s hard for me to tell. It also could just be a ding that has filled with a metal polish that was used to polish the brass many years ago. Oh, the mysteries of buttons!
